Hi and welcome. If you are looking for hints and tips for Rangers check out The Campsite and have a look at the Ranger section.

rangers are a very good class to start with, they have the second best armor, second best energy regeneration, you can do alot of damage without being in the middle of the fight[with your bow and/or a pet], and you can even mimic other professions to a extent, like a monk, but with expertise, you can cut down on the energy cost of monk skills, and still use the monk staffs/wands and off hands.
you can do that with mesmers, necros, ect.

And which monk "skills" would these be ? Because they surely can't be spells, because expertise doesn't work with spells.

OFF TOPIC!
um..... that explains why people don't do that..... I never really looked at what monk skills were classed as... but the thing is, they're called skills![good excuse for me right?]

Hi, ranger isnt best class to start off with but fun class, 1 tip for new players, is that DONT SPEND ATTRIBUTE POINTS EVENLY, like say level 20 would do 7 expertise, marksmanship, wilderness survival, etc. Use skills that relate to a certain attribute, and dont give everything 4 in attributes, it doesnt do anything but get wasted, I see many newbies doing this lol.

Rangers can be great as Pure Rangers, meaning a secondary is not always needed.

You're right about guildwiki, Canadian Bacon. But I didn't actually mean to link to it.

That was actually my roundabout way of saying that Timore has found the right place here on GWG.

Rangers can do a lot of interesting things and I don't want to spoil your creativity as a brand new player by telling you about a certain few, but if you're going Ranger Warrior be sure to experiment fully with all of the different attributes for both ranger and warrior. The ranger can have a lot of fun wielding warrior weapons.
